Rexto Global Travel Guide
How to choose the right hotel area
A neighborhood-first method for selecting a hotel in an unfamiliar city.
Guide
Choose the areas that match your itinerary, not only the areas that are famous. A slightly less central hotel near reliable public transport can be practical for many travellers.
Check the map, transport links, walkability, airport access and the distance to the places you expect to visit. Look at the whole journey rather than a single attraction.
Read the property description and recent booking information carefully. Hotel names can be similar, and some properties may have more than one location or building.
Frequently asked questions
Is the city centre always the best area?
Not necessarily. The best area depends on your itinerary, transport needs and budget.
What should I check on the map?
Check transport, attractions, airport access and the actual location of the property.
